Construction Notes:
Hole Depth For Retaining
When building a wall used for retaining, the depth of the hole for the posts needs to be equal to the height of the finished wall i.e. If the finished wall is 400mm high, the hole should be 400mm deep. The posts are then concreted in (refer to Diagram 1).
To get a level finish, Woodlook Sleepers are best laid on a wet mortar cement or laid using masonry glue. This makes them easier to align and level.
When using masonry glue, lay two sleepers running in the opposite direction to the sleepers being laid (refer to Diagram 2), apply sufficient glue and lay sleepers on top.
